Before you buy
What does setup involve?
We set it up. Plug the device into your network, and your team signs in at your practice or firm’s own address from any browser or phone in the office. Nothing to install, no accounts with anyone else.
What will it cost?
We haven’t set pricing yet — that’s part of what we want the first ten to help us work out. Whatever we land on, founding practices and firms lock it in for as long as they’re a customer.
What happens after I request a call?
We call you, learn about your practice or firm, and if it’s a fit, we set you up.
Privacy and your data
So what I type does reach ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini?
The substance does, with identifiers stripped first. The model sees “client is behind on payments and asking for a plan,” not whose payments. What never leaves: names, dates of birth, contact details, your documents, and your search index.
Does the AI learn from our conversations?
No. Marling uses the providers’ commercial services, which don’t use your requests to train their models, and identifying details are removed before anything is sent.
Is this enough for regulated work?
It is built so identifiers stay on the device and refuses to send if masking isn’t running. No product can be “certified” compliant; going live with real client information also means the right agreements are in place, and we walk through that with you.
Do our documents get uploaded anywhere?
No. They are read and indexed on the device and stay there. When an answer draws on one, the passage it needs goes out with identifiers removed; the file never does.
Isn’t the cloud more secure than a box in my office?
Often it is, and that’s not really the question. A cloud service can be well defended and still be a place where your client’s name, your notes, and your documents live under someone else’s terms. Marling narrows what’s exposed in the first place: identifiers never reach the internet, your documents stay on the device, and there’s no public login page for anyone to find.
Living with it
Does it listen to sessions or meetings?
Never. You open Dictation and speak a note when you choose to. Marling doesn’t record anything else.
Can we use it from home?
It works on your own network, or through your own VPN if you have one. There is no way in from the open internet, on purpose. Many solo practitioners work from a home office, where the device simply lives.
What happens when we hit the cap?
Requests stop for the rest of the day and pick up again the next. The number is yours; tell us what you want it to be and we set it.
Isn’t this just ChatGPT?
A consumer account is one model on one personal login, under terms the provider can change whenever it likes. Marling gives your whole practice or firm one place to work, picks between three models on each request, and keeps your conversation history on your own device, not in someone else’s account.
